Dating violence is a major conflict in teenage relationships. According to the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in three girls has admitted to being abused in a relationship. Domestic abuse is the physical, mental, sexual, and/or emotional abuse of another person in a relationship. Furthermore, dating violence is when one member of the raltionship attempts to gain and maintain control and power over the other person. Dating violence is not only any issue in Rhode Island, but is also a problem nationwide.
